Tips for Case Managers

on

Sharing Results with

Families and Other

Service Providers:

  • Use Clear, Non-Technical Language: Explain the results in a way that is understandable to families, avoiding jargon and focusing on how the data translates into everyday needs.

  • Be Solution-Oriented: Emphasize the strengths and provide actionable steps for addressing areas of concern. Ensure parents and service providers know what comes next and how the findings support services.

  • Involve Families in the Planning Process: Encourage parents to ask questions and actively participate in decision-making. This fosters a team approach and ensures that services align with family expectations.

  • Provide Visuals When Possible: Use graphs, charts, or visual summaries of the data to make it easier for families to comprehend the results.

  • Maintain Regular Communication: Share ongoing progress and any changes in the student's needs, ensuring that the results are not only discussed once but become part of continuous dialogue.
